City Court is the largest subordinate court of law situated in Karachi. It may appear to be a model court, but this is far from the reality. The City Court premises have jurisdiction over 4 districts i.e. South, Central, East and West. It handles a vast amount of legal work and is a crucial source of legal relief for the citizens.

Therefore, the court should have proper furniture and other necessary facilities like air conditioning, water supply and washrooms. The poor conditions of the court are not only affecting the judges and litigators but the public as well. These shabby conditions reflect poorly on the overall judicial system.

The relevant authorities should take appropriate steps to improve the condition of the City Court by providing the concerned department with the necessary funds for its upkeep and maintenance.

The funds should be used for the construction of new courtrooms, the establishment of necessary infrastructure for the court premises and the provision of necessary facilities like air conditioning, water supply, sanitation facilities, etc. The government should make sure that the City Court premises are well-maintained and that the judges and litigators are facilitated to prevent any impediments in case hearings.
